Tips and Tricks

Managing Sets with Plot Manager Submit

Collections of documents from multiple disciplines often need to be plotted– it is a lot easier to get them in the right order before plotting than after. Once they're in the right order, just save the set for easy recall to make it easier to submit for the next review printing. Even if new documents need to be inserted in the middle, it is generally far easier to recall a saved set and add the documents in the right place than it is to start all over again. Simply add the document to the list and drag it to the correct place, then re-save the set.

In addition to making it easier to re-submit collections of documents, using the set function has some other advantages:

  • Plot Station Server processes a set as if it is a single job – so you don't need to worry about plots submitted by your co-workers getting mixed in between sheets.
  • If you are plotting to a device with an advanced controller (Xerox Synergix, Océ TDS or KIP Starprint), multiple copies of the sets are processed by the plotter instead of by Plot Station, speeding throughput by allowing Plot Station to process jobs to other devices while letting the plotter complete the job.

If you have questions about using sets more efficiently, contact eQuorum's support line, and one of our analysts will be happy to assist you.
