News ReleaseeQuorum Donates Usage of ImageSite® to Habitat For Humanity InternationalComprehensive online collaboration solution available to HabitatATLANTA, Georgia (May 9, 2001) - eQuorum Corporation, a leading provider of Web-based document collaboration and distribution software solutions, today announced it has donated the usage of ImageSite, its online collaboration solution, to Habitat for Humanity International. Habitat for Humanity International is a resource to its more than 2,000 affiliates world wide by making floor plans and construction documents available. These floor plans guide affiliates in building simple, decent homes with families in need. Millions of volunteers work with affiliates in 76 countries to provide families who currently live in poverty-level housing the chance of home ownership. With its donation of ImageSite usage, eQuorum is providing Habitat for Humanity with access to floor plans through one of the best online collaboration solutions available in the marketplace today. Under terms of the agreement, eQuorum has provided Habitat for Humanity International with 24 months of free disk storage space for their project repository in ImageSite. Any enhancements and new features added to ImageSite during that time will be available to Habitat for Humanity users. eQuorum will also make technical support staff available to Habitat users. ImageSite training will be provided to Habitat users through eQuorum's scheduled online web seminars. "The donation of ImageSite will advance the ease and availability of buildable house plans world wide," said Nevil Eastwood, construction and environmental resources director, Habitat for Humanity International. "This tool is connecting HFHI to the affiliates by helping them access the floor plans they need much faster and more efficiently than ever before." The Internet based collaboration software lets users anywhere in the world store, retrieve, review, mark up, collaborate and print a broad range of technical documents throughout the lifecycle of any project or product. The authorized user needs only a standard Web browser to access drawings in the ImageSite repository. This makes ImageSite attractive to the architecture, engineering and construction teams involved in building Habitat for Humanity homes. "The software is designed to quickly display complex drawing images, even from a dial-up connection," said Chuck Rieger, chief technology officer and chief architect/designer of the ImageSite solution. "The ability to view construction drawings online using a standard web browser and print these drawing locally, if desired, should help Habitat for Humanity save on the costs of printing, copying and shipping paper drawings to distant construction sites." Employees at eQuorum, including Chuck Rieger, know firsthand how important inter-team communication is in Habitat for Humanity projects because many have volunteered to work on Habitat Blitz Builds, accelerated builds where homes are constructed from foundation to completion in one week. The future homeowners work along with volunteers to construct their own homes and then purchase their homes with no-profit, no-interest mortgages. Projects like these take enormous coordination among vendors, volunteers, governments and Habitat staff members. ImageSite will help facilitate the communication between the players by allowing them the ease of accessing all their construction documents with the click of a mouse. "eQuorum is pleased to be helping with projects like Habitat's Blitz Builds by donating the usage of ImageSite. Giving them free use of an online service will help make the overall process run more smoothly and more efficiently for all those involved in the organization's projects," said Frank Fortson, president and CEO of eQuorum. "We could not think of a better way to show our support for Habitat for Humanity and its efforts than by giving them software that can help improve an already outstanding program. Hopefully with the time and money saved through the use of ImageSite, Habitat will have the resources to build even more homes for those in need." Through the use of ImageSite, Habitat for Humanity will enjoy a number of important benefits. Since ImageSite is totally web-based, they do not have to worry about installing or maintaining any software. This enables Habitat affiliates to immediately access the document repository using a standard web browser. The cost of ImageSite is based licensing. eQuorum offers informational web seminars so prospective users can learn about the benefits of the ImageSite.
