Powerful Enhancements in ImageSite® 2.2 Make Web Distribution of Engineering Documents Easier

ATLANTA, GA - September 23, 1999 - eQuorum announces the availability of version 2.2 of its ImageSite® web document distribution and collaboration solution. ImageSite is used by large companies in the manufacturing, engineering, utilities and government markets to improve the way they view, acquire and distribute large format engineering drawings. Popular uses for ImageSite include facilitating engineering design review cycles, improving electronic bid distribution, and providing immediate access to facilities drawings. Another popular use is for "disconnected" viewing of engineering documents by field personnel in mobile computing environments—without any specialized software on their PC.

The enhancements in this release make it even easier for companies to distribute complex engineering drawings and hold live Web and phone conferences to view and markup drawings. This helps companies shorten project review and approval cycles, provide quicker information access to their employees as well as affiliates, and reduce document distribution and reprographics costs.

The enhancements in release 2.2 of ImageSite include the following:

• A Microsoft Access-compatible database for companies who don't have an EDMS
• "Phone Home" feature for quick access to desired document
• Added support for GIF, JPEG, and BMP native file formats (in addition to file formats currently supported including TIFF, CALS and TG4)
  • view, zoom, pan and markup these file formats
  • use these file formats in conferences, add notes to them, and more
• Ability to work with native Intergraph CIT raster files
• New drawing and measuring tools
  • ability to perform linear and area quantity takeoffs
  • real-time running totals of linear and area totals
  • snap-to controls for drawing lines
  • on-the-fly image and markup rotation

The database included with ImageSite 2.2 is Microsoft Access-compatible and enables companies who do not have an electronic document management system (EDMS) to better manage their vast numbers of engineering drawings. The database offers increased search capabilities and includes security features so that companies can determine who has privileges to access and upload desired files. ImageSite also offers the ability to integrate with popular EDMS solutions such as Motiva's DesignGroup.

Another key enhancement is the "phone home" feature. A remote viewer using a web browser to view a document can connect to the originating ImageSite, log in as a guest and see the centrally-stored copy of the same document. This feature is ideal for companies who use ImageSite to distribute bid sets of engineering drawings and technical documents.
