eQuorum Releases ImageSite® PocketDoc™

New Module Offers Handheld Wireless Access To Engineering Documents

ATLANTA, GEORGIA - October 1, 2002 - eQuorum Corporation announces the availability of PocketDoc™, an optional module for ImageSite that gives handheld PC users the ability to access, view, markup, and print engineering and technical documents stored in the ImageSite repository. PocketDoc is designed for busy, on-the-go professionals who need anywhere access to large format engineering drawings or technical documents.

ImageSite lets users anywhere in the world store, retrieve, review, mark up, collaborate with, and print a broad range of technical documents throughout the lifecycle of any project or product. ImageSite is a robust Java application that has the look and feel of traditional "thick client" software. The authorized user needs only a standard Web browser to access drawings in the ImageSite repository.

PocketDoc brings much of the same ImageSite functionality to wireless handheld users including the ability to perform quick document searches using multiple attributes. Handheld users login onto ImageSite using the same ID and password that they do on their desktop PC. Once a document is selected, the user can zoom and pan to see details, and create markups with as many markup layers as necessary. Users can choose which features they want on or off including document viewing, markups and printing.

PocketDoc runs on Pocket PC 2002 devices with Pocket Internet Explorer. Designed specifically for handheld users, it offers superb display performance whether using wireless LAN, modem or digital cellular connection. Running as a Java applet within the Pocket PC OS enables users to quickly view sections of any size drawing. The software sends only the required portion of the drawing to the Pocket PC reducing wait time. And, since e-mail is a key function for many handheld PC users, PocketDoc lets them receive e-mails with direct hotlinks to the drawings they need.

Printing functions are streamlined for ease of use. Handheld users can use PocketDoc to print single documents or a set of documents, with or without first viewing the document. Any document stored in the ImageSite repository may be printed.

"PocketDoc lets any authorized user quickly access the documents stored in the ImageSite repository, whether the user is on a manufacturing shop floor, a construction site or in a conference room," comments Frank D. Bouchard, vice president of sales and marketing at eQuorum. "With PocketDoc, handheld users get the same benefit of immediate access to the most current product or project documents without being tied to their desk."

ImageSite is licensed by the number of concurrent users or by the number of documents to be stored in the ImageSite repository. ImageSite and PocketDoc are available directly from eQuorum, or through authorized partners including Xerox Engineering Systems.
